UPDATE: All
General Election ballots across Surrey have been counted, see
the results!
The countdown to polling day is upon us and were all deciding who to vote for a tough decision for new and old time voters.
We have two sets of issues to address those affecting the entire country (expenses scandals, economic deficit etc.), and those affecting Surrey citizens. Therefore when making your decision you should want to know that your local candidates are going to do the best they can to address these issues promptly and in the correct way for you.
We have beautiful countryside areas throughout Surrey where is the focus of your elected MPs and Councillors going to lie? Do you want to see more housing (an increasing issue in areas such as Guildford) or hold on to the countryside?
Surrey has one of the greatest rates of Council Tax in England and is to rise by 2.5% for 2010/11. Do you want to call on your next MP to deal with this situation? Or is council tax reasonable for you? Surrey County Council will receive the joint lowest funding increase from the Government across the country this year and this is why they demand a high rate of council tax.
These are only some of the issues that affect Surrey residents. We want to hear from you let us know the issues that are having an effect on your area. Let us know what you want to see your new MP and local Councillors do about the problems facing Surrey Residents in 2010.
We have already set up
Surrey Constituency Pages with information about who browsing users can vote for in their local polling stations in Surrey. We have also created topics and a special
2010 Election Discussion board on our forum to promote discussion about the key issues affecting local people. There's never been a better place for you to talk to the people in your area!
This service is completely free to the general public and local politicians.
What do we ask of you?
Join the discussion! Registration is completely free, all you have to do is Sign up to our
