As of the 1st of September you are now able to contact Surrey Police using another phone number, 101. This is to be used in non-emergency situations such as general enquiries, less urgent crimes and disorder or speaking to a officer.
This number has been introduced in other areas across the country including Wales, London, Essex and Sussex and is set to bet live across the entire country by the end of January 2012.
Calls to this number cost 15p for the entirety of the call from both landlines and mobiles.
If there is an emergency situation, that is when someone is injured or in danger, a suspect is nearby, or a crime is taking place you should still use 999.
