Guildford High Street Robbery - Mappin&Webb

And again - High Street Guildford jewellery shop has been robbed this morning.
Is it the current money crisis or some other reason that robbery takes place more often these days? This time the police acted very well.
Undercover teams appeared suddenly when the action started.
To our knowledge no one from public was hurt despite the robbers trying to escape in a fast getaway car.
Half of the regular high street citizens became police force members within seconds!

Have you been there? What is your view on the level of crime in Surrey?
Do you feel unsafe as a shopkeeper, member of the public?
Just few months ago Guildford made it to the top of national news regarding fatal action outside Guildford Cathedral,
An innocent person loses their life, and now two robberies on the high street within 10 days of each other with movie style police action.
These accidents are rising a lot of questions...

i heard about last weeks robbery but those guys were all caught so this must be a completely different gang..

it sounds like the police handled this one pretty well, apparently they were already waiting outside in undercover clothing. but i still cant believe its happened to exactly the same shop in the space of 2 weeks!! shocking.
