A New Survey has found Guildford among the top three towns in the country regarding income tax level.
With the average taxpayer earning £38200 in Guildford, "at the heart of the Surrey stockbroker belt" (as The Guardian called the town) residents on average contributed £8850. This is more than double the average UK taxpayer contribution (£4333). South West with its commuter belt is in general on the top of the list with London in the fifth position with £7740 donated towards RBS and Northern Rock rescue
