The
University for the Creative Arts (UCA) recently held a competition for graphic design students as part of an initiative by Surrey County Council; "Unique and celebratory design".
Surrey's logo for the 2012 Olympics was chosen in the competition and will be unveiled at a special event on 11th May at the UCA in Epsom.
The logo, designed by Rachel Cresswell of Hastings in Sussex was pitched to a panel of judges at the UCA in Epsom and will feature on flags and materials for Surrey's 2012 programme.
"All the concepts pitched to the judging panel were of an extremely high and professional standard," as Surrey's 2012 coordinator Elizabeth Molineux explained.
"In the end we all agreed that Rachel Cresswell met the tough brief with a unique and celebratory design that will have broad appeal," she added.
"We are delighted with the result."
The logo will not be shown until the official unveiling at the UCA in Epsom on 11th May.
Here at Surrey-Online we're holding a small competition of our own, please see our
