Hampton Court Flower Show

UPDATE: Hampton Court Flower Show Photo Gallery - Check out everyones photos and share your own with the whole community!

Between 07/07 and 12/07/2009 one of the biggest horticultural shows in England will take place at Hampton Court Palace.
Every year thousands of people visit this flower show event which is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society. The RHS is responsible for a series of Shows across the UK and we in Surrey are lucky to host two of these shows. One takes place in July at Hampton Court and the second Surrey flower show takes place in Wisley Gardens, one of the Royal Horticultural Society Gardens.  Wisley Flower Show is scheduled for 11–13 September 2009.

HAMPTON COURT - THE BIGGEST RHS FLOWER SHOW IN THE UK
As in previous years, this year we can expect thousands of visitors to Hampton Court Palace. On the busiest days up to 50,000 people a day can visit the show. 25 acres of exhibit areas offers a lot of space for imagination.
As this is usually a quiet area for five days, some special infrastructure is put in place to keep visitors' experience on the highest possible level. There are some extra trains from Waterloo, temporary car parks and park'n'drive facilities.
If you traveling from the South Coast, Surrey or Hampshire please change at Surbiton station.
If you expect to be traveling by car we suggest you use the Park'n'Drive facility between West Molesey and Walton-on-Thames on the farm next to Thames Valley Water Works.

Surrey-Online Travel Advice.
For visitors traveling by Train
- If you are traveling from London on the train there are several alternative routes for you. The most pleasant will be one to Teddington (Stopping service to Shepperton) which can be combined with a short walk through Bushy Park. We recomend this route as there is a great chance to spot deer on your way to Hampton Court Palace.

For all visitors traveling by car from South East
- Avoid Walton bridge as this is quite a well-known local "Traffic Jam Maker" and I mean it :-(
- Avoid Walton-on-Thames town centre if possible as there is a lot of traffic there.
- You can easily use the A3/A245 junction to exit the A3 for the Park'n'Ride on Hurst Rd (Walton-on-Thames).
- For parking try to apply following rule: If you are traveling to the show M25 anticlockwise/M3 use Parking Facilities located on the north bank of the river Thames. If you travel M25 clockwise/A3 use Parking facilities located on the Thames south bank. Bridges in this area get nasty during peak hours. Avoiding them could be a good idea.

Special tip for all visitors traveling from London
The quickest of course is to travel by train but if you do not mind the time we would strongly recommend a Boat trip.
As the trip from Westminster Pier can be too long if your target is to visit the show (not to have a nice day on the river) we would recommend to
take the District line to Richmond and then from Richmond the boat from St Helena Pier (ther is one at 11:00 but please confirm this with operators)

Hampton Court after the show
This is great little town with a few Restaurants and cafes - the town is divided by the river we would recomend a visit to Vecchia Roma - a traditional italian restaurant which is located near the Palace for detailed map and contacts click here
