Get healthy and help support charities at the same time!
Guildford Spectrums Charities of the Year - Cherry Trees and Home-Start Guildford - are joining forces to raise funds for local children with a new
Swim for the Children event at Spectrum on Saturday 5 September, 5.30pm - 7.30pm.
Sponsored by Procter and Gamble (P&G), the event is open to all ages and aims to raise money to support the work that the charities do with families in the community.
Clandon based Cherry Trees offers short term respite care for children and young people with physical or learning difficulties. The home-style environment supports many local familiies who would otherwise struggle to get a break. Home-Start Guildford also support local families by providing volunteers who give practical and emotional support to help build families confidence and ability to cope.
Spectrum supports both charities with its Active Gifts scheme, which converts points that customers have donated from their Active Cards into leisure activity tickets. To date 81,000 points have been donated, enabling children from both Cherry Trees and Home-Start families to visit the complex.
